Usually it comes down to what you have room for. The power difference is minimal between the two, but the X-pipe is said to sound "buzzier" than the H-pipe.

Depends on what you want and budget.
There are a lot of options right now.
There’s 3” true dual kits and 3” catback exhausts as usual.
Theres also 2.5” true dual exhaust kit .
You can also do a 4” catback exhaust should the car make 700hp.
One key element for good y pipe is flowmaster merge.

i am lowered 3/4", and i chose to go flow master merge into a 4 inch dump for a few reason....
1) larger overall area than dual 2.5" but a little less than 3"
2) even dual 2.5" out the rear would have been a tough fit with my larger rear axle at stock ride height.
3) this is the best reason, i need an exhaust out the back to pass inspection, and as mentioned earlier, the 2.5" out the back would be really tough. so i went with the 4 inch dump, and had the exhaust shop fab me up a piece just to pass inspection. what i do is after the y pipe and muffle the turndown tip is just clamped on, i unclamp, and bolt on this 2 piece extension pipe that simply is a 4" reduced to a 2.5" that goes right over my axle and out the back. sounds like ****. but after i pass and get stickers, off that piece comes and on comes the dump. a dump does drone a little but working on experimenting with different mufflers. i cant stand looking at camaros with exhaust tips anymore after getting used to not having any
