Default 408 stinger plate head selection

Planning on building a 408. It's going in my 94 z28. Have an opportunity to pick up a set of ls3 heads for 450 with rockers and really debating it. I know this topic has been beat to death between ls3 and trickflows heads. I really don't want to fork out 3k for trickflows if I can achieve the same with an ls3. But the plan is 408 either tsp rods and piston or k1 with weisco -3cc flat tops,ls3 heads, vic jr or super vic,4150 throttle body and nitrous outlet stinger plate jetted for 250-300 . I plan to drive the car everywhere with a.c. cam selection is still up for debate I saw the btr 400 ci na cam but I'm not opposed to a custom grind. Trans will be a glide or th400. So my question if the suggestion is not to run ls3 heads because of the lack of low end what is a comparable cathedral port head that isn't 3k. I've been 6.18 @ 108 with a sbe ls1 and a super vic with stinger on a 235 jet. Goals for this set up would be 5.90s or better.

I know someone putting down 520 hp on a 416 stroker with LS3 heads and runs a 10.45. So, not a bad way to go.

Text port heads are harder to cam properly. So if you go this route, Have someone spec your cam

Yea we have a local guy that was going 5.50s on patriot 317s so I figure I'll either do ls3 or advanced induction 317s. I understand people saying that they lack in low end and stuff but I mean a good stall is going to put the car right in the rpm range for the street so I don't understand so much as to why everyone hates them.
