Default Need help to chose intake and more...

Hi all...Here I'm working on a 2001 LQ4 6.0 out of a 2001 GMC Yukon. Already figured long block. Will use dome pistons from Wiseco and rods and ported 243 from Texas speed and looking at 11.0 :1 to 11.5:1 CR. Not yet decided on cam. Now my confusion is how to choose intake, throttle body, injectors, MAF sensor, etc. I have TB, MAF sensor, Gas pedal ECM, harness, etc. from donor truck. This will go in a 73 Camaro. Partially figured wiring and can modify the original wiring. I'm planning to send ECU to "Frost" in Richmond VA (close to me) and once it runs, then take it there for a full tune. Unfortunately, they didn't provide any part#s as I asked them. I have to switch the truck intake to something shorter like LS6, but how do you adapt a 4 bolt (bigger?) TB to the truck ECM? Should I get DBW or DBC?I preffer DBW as this truck originally came with it. Accessory clearance is not an issue since I already figured brackets to relocate stuff. Injectors??part #? MAF sensor...can I use original one or what needs to be done. I just need advise to order right parts once. Please input.

Find an 07 or later Gen IV truck manifold.
They use 4-bolt TB's, 87mm.

If a shorter intake is what your needing, go with a FAST. It will work with your 4 bolt TB and you’ll pick up power. For injectors, use a set of 42 lb. units from a LS7. You can pick them up used very often from the guys over on Corvette Forum. Very low miles. I don’t run a MAF, I’m speed density, so I can’t help you there. Likely your Oem unit will work.

Thank you for your response...Yes, I do need some short intake to clear camaro hood (Cathedral port) but the truck TB has 3 bolt not 4 (DBW) and it appears to be 78ish mm. All component including TB, TAC, MAF and ECM belong to 2001 vortec 6.0. Main issue is how to adapt any bigger 4 bolt TB to work with existing ECM, TAC, and pedal, at least to make it drivable to tuner with best and cheapest possible solution.

Dorman LS2 intake on a budget or a Fast 102 if you have extra coin.

Ok, let me ask you this, apparently I can adapt existing 3 bolt 78 mm TB to LS6 or LS2 intake with some adapter block, or spend more and get a bigger TB and get the X-link from http://www.torquerush.com/x-link.html which cost $270 to make this works. Really worth spend another $1500 to go from 78mm to 90 or 102?

I also read this somewhere, can anybody confirm it to be true:

"The 99-02 trucks with DBW (C3, SUVs with traction contol etc.) can use the 87mm truck or LS2 throttle body with the existing TAC, no x-link required only tuning. These use a similar set up to the LS1, although the TB has the motor on the opposite side. There are not many trucks with this system, since most had the DBC during these years. You cannot use a 03-06 throttle body with this PCM even if you change the TAC module too. It will only open to about 90% and then go into reduced power mode. The 03-07 trucks with the 3 bolt throttle 78mm throttle body need the x-link to run a 87mm truck or LS2 throttle body. You cannot use the LS1 or 99-02 TAC with this BLUE/GREEN PCM."
