Default Axle dump exhaust question

As far as the turndowns, would it be better to aim them straight down or kinda angle towards the sides? Any noticeable sound difference?

My current setup is 45'd towards the passenger rear tire. I have an ORY > XR1 setup for clearance. When it was a LM1 setup and straight down it was insanely loud at any amount of throttle. With my current setup it doesn't get stupid until you go WOT. Could just be the nature of the XR1 but it's a lot more tame. Still some drone going on though. Plan on getting it all redone in stainless 3.5" or 4"

You want them on 45° turndowns.

45* down for me. Just make sure you get them to point below the axle, not at the axle. Good way to severely overheat the rear end. Not a problem with a lowered car.

Thanks for the tip. That's how it's getting done.

I always aim them straight down or at least far enough back where they aren't aimed at or near the tire. I know of two cars possibly three that were wrecked at the track because they dumped the exhaust to close to the tires and lost traction when they dropped a valve/ broke a piston and it puked oil out of the tail pipe right under the tires. The other puked oil before kicking the rods so it either could have been the cause.
