MSD 6014, Dieseling, Hey all. I swapped a 03 5.3 in my 07 Magnum. I'm carbureted with a holley 600. I have MSD 6014. I'm currently running setting 'truck' with 93 octane. Car runs excellent. But when I shut down it diesels for 1 or 2 puffs. I hear it could be timing, but it's on the stock tune. Should I go to the 'truck H.O.' setting with 93? I have adjusted idle so it barely wants to run and it's still diesels. Any opinions? Solutions?

With a carb it will continue to fuel as long as the engine is rotating.
Dieseling with a carb a lot of times can come from running lean which creates really high cylinder temps that allows the fuel to be ignited due to compression and heat alone and that's why it keeps running after shut down when there is no spark.
You can try pulling a little timing or richening it up to see which helps. Also, are coolant temps in check or is it running hot?
Does it ping,clatter, or detonate? Does it struggle to start after it's hot?

Starts great everytime. Running temp is 210° doesnt ping or anything like that..just a burp or 2 at shut down. Its runni g on the stock MSD 6014 truck tune. I'll have to figure out how to go in and change th iming of a custom tune
