Default What to do about headers.

I am currently sitting on a set of pacesetter ceramics 13/4 longtubes. The exhaust after the header was done up by a local exhaust shop and its crush bent tubing and 3 bolt flanges have been welded to the header for ease of installation. He did a nice job but its still crushed bent pipe. Since I will be swapping the engine with an ls2 403, should I swap on a set of speed engineering 17/8 and their tds? Any reasons I should spend big money on some holleys, tsps or even am racing? This will probably all cost 600-850 bucks so I need to know if it's worth my time or not. Thanks.

Btw this is an fbody, There are many other routes I'd be willing to go, I just dont want to bother with cutouts bit I may be convinced otherwise. Noise is not a concern but running pipes over the axle for fumes would be nice. But I'm open to suggestions What do you think about:

Headers into true duals (simple)

Headers into mufflex y pipe into 4" into 4" bullet dumped towards passanger

Headers into y pipe into mufflex 4" catback

Does exhaust flow become less critical as it cools and the pipe can be narrowed without penalty? So can I go from a mufflex y pipe into a 3" catback with no cutout and not introduce backpressure?

I wouldnt think twice about running the Speed engineering stuff. But you may need to get an exhaust shop involved for it to fit the best it can (if you chose over the axle). From there I would go with TSP.

I do have a ship that can work on making it fit so I'm not worried about that. Any issues with header fitment? Should I rock pacesetter 1-7/8 instead? I'm toying with the idea of the pacesetter with mufflex Y dumped with a bullet. Need to know how well the 4" pipe and 5" OD bullet would fit. Ik people have done it but I haven't seen a pic of it fabbed under the car.

I dont know about fitment issues. I have the pacesetter 1 3/4 and they fit fine but for your cubic inch the 1 7/8 may be smart.

The SE 1 7/8 LT headers are pretty sweet for the price and would be a nice match for a 402/403 LS in my opinion. I have a set SE 1 7/8 for my 02 Z28.
