I just installed my hooker lt's, ory,and a bullit muffler in my 99 formula. IT is untuned so that woud also help out a little.man what a damn difference though. Now it did take my buddy which is awsome at working on exhaust and me 14hrs to do this with him doing most of the work. I had edelbrock shorties with cats,slp y-pipe and a loud mouth. The best it had ran was 13.3 at 106 which i thought was a little low on the et and mph with dr's. My buddies 00 ss with a lid,k&n,and free mods ran 13.3 at 107. I would pull a car on him on the street from a stop then he would start pulling me by 40-50. From a roll he would pull me by at least a car if not more by 90.
See i think those headers were hurting me more than they ever helped. I dont recommend them to any one. Now i pull him by around a 3/4's of a car from a roll from like 40 to 90. Plus i just finished installing 4.10's with a lot of help from anouther buddy. Man im proud of my ls1 now. Im hoping to hit high 12's with it this friday. For anouther week my speedo is way off and my check engine light is on. Then im taking to rapidmotorsports on 7-19-04 and its getting a G5X3 cam installed and a good tune. Man i cant wait.

Sounds like you need to buy your "buddies" a six pack or two. These are the posts I like to read.

my whole exhaust system didn't help at all til i got the car tuned...maybe you should check into that.

What kind of tune do you guys mean by this... a dyno tune, an ecm reprogrammed, ...?

well i know it would maximize what i have now. But those shorties were hurting me i think. Thats why i noticed a difference. Like i said before im getting the G5X3 cam installed next week then getting it dyno tuned.
