4th gen Long tubes for ls swap in 3rd Has anyone tried? I really don't feel like ripping my LTs off one of my cars to find out. 3rd gen have plenty of room of course and i have a tub k-member also. Thanks in advance.
Google pics of 3rd Gen & 4th Gen LS1 LT's and its fairly obvious they are not interchangeable. Went through all of this back in 2002 when i started planning an LS swap for my 91 RS. 4th Gen shorties or manifolds will fit but 4th Gen mids & LT's won't. Local shop fabbed it up and checked. I was one of that 1st dozen that kicked in $200 each at said shop for Stainless Steel Works to develop that first set of LS LT's for the 3rd Gen's.
There are a lot of LS1 LT's for 3rd Gens these days. Speed Engineering has budget friendly version, Hawk's Motorsports and many others have excellent quality LS headers for 3rd Gen
My the way my 91 RS has a set of Hawks LS 1 7/8 LT's, very happy with them.
