Default 4th gen - cigarette lighters always on?

Hi everyone,

My 2002 Camaro has two cigarette lighters. My understanding is that both will draw power regardless of whether or not the car is on/accessories are on. Can anyone confirm?

Thank you!

I always thought the one under the emergency brake was just a power port.

Yes, both cig ports are constant hot. If you have anything plugged in there and don't drive the car for an extended amount of time, ie-over 1 week, it may drain your battery

It’s awesome for charging your devices hidden in car instead of needing to babysit it with keys on like newer cars.
