Default Harmonic balancer interchangeably

I am doing a swap using a 2002 LS-1 where I am using all C6 accessories (looking everything up as 2006). I can’t find a definitive answer as to which harmonic balancer to use. As I look up the parts, I see the one for the year Corvette I’m looking up the accessories for is listed as 05-06 only. Was there different depths on corvettes through the C6 year range or different weight balancers for the different engine sizes?

GM May have changed some dampers through the years on the vettes, I don’t know. But what I do know is that your engine is internally balanced. The damper on the front will not affect the balance of your engine...as long as it’s a zero-balanced damper...which most if not all of the LS dampers are. Lighter is better here in terms of performance, but as long as the offset correlates with your other accessories offsets, your fine. These dampers get mixed and matched all the time with swaps.

Generally, the crank damper on these motors is part of a set with the accessories. You can put any damper on any motor as long as the other accessories match. Accessory setups mostly go with body style; I know the trucks are different from the cars, not sure how different (or not) Vettes are from F bodies or to what extent they may have varied over time (or not).

If you're using a 2006 Vette accessory system, use a damper for that year and chassis, and you should be sure of compatibility.

That’s pretty much what I thought, but was looking for confirmation. This is my first LS. Thanks for the responses

Distance from the block is the determining item.
Truck is furthest out, the F body is the next closest, the Vette is the tightest. The accessories, such as alt, p/s can/will be different, in both mounting dimensions, and location on the engine.
