Anyone using Edelbrock 8896 water pump?

Default Anyone using Edelbrock 8896 water pump?
Is anyone running an Edelbrock 8896 water pump? I think I am going that route with my LSXR 102 intake manifold.

It should. I'm running it on my ls3(406) with a fast 102 in my 05 gto

What about the Evans water pump? Is that the same as an LS1 housing, or an LS2 housing?

Read your other thread. You shouldn't need a fancy water pump unless you want one just to say you have one. Get an act Delco off Amazon or get one at AutoZone with a lifetime on it and call it good. Make sure it's the ls2 version.

I read somewhere that the LS2 pump doesn't flow as well as the LS1, is that accurate?. Also, I intend to upgrading the cooling system at some point, and a higher flowing water pump would be a component of that. I figure I might as well do it now, since I am replacing the water pump.

i havent tried an edelbrock pump, i now have a parts store gates ls2 pump, but it doesnt cool the car as well and i still had to grind a decent amount off it. once i get my meziere rebuilt ill be putting that back on.

Yup same pulley. No grinding required. Direct fit. Needs a two piece thermo housing.

I remember reading the one piece thermo works but I'd look into this if you choose to not get a new thermo. It's like 30 bucks for a 185 thermo

LS2 water pump = pn 12681186. I think that part number comes with the 2 piece thermostat too.
