Truck motor identification HELP
-Was it DBW or CABLE ?
-Which ECM to get / harness to get or order
- fuel rail return style or non , so I can either order regulator or high pressure pre filter.
Thanks much everyone, I have looked through sticky's and other posts , hope I won't make anyone mad with this!
Looks like a 4-bolt throttle body; probably DBC. Looks kinda like it has the flex-fuel injectors.
The heads have been replaced, with ones from a "rebuilder". You can see the little overheat melty indicator thing in the driver's side one, in the freeze plug.
If it's a 4.8, the pistons will be flat-tops, and the block will say "4.8/5.3" on it. They have the same bore, just different strokes and pistons. You should be able to easily see into a cyl with the spark plug out.
What is the head casting # ? 3 digits, outer front corner of pass side head just below valve cover.
Year code in the VIN is "1". I've lost track of the years; what year is that? Came from a vehicle mfd in the US (1st digit of the VIN is country code, "1" is US, most trucks are "3" Mexico); any idea what kind of vehicle it was?

Well thanks all for the replies lol . The shop just messaged me saying don't bother looking at the photos. These are just all stock photos for them. So I'm an idiot but lesson learned , from now on maybe message them first! haha have a good one
This is likely not true, all the salvage yards in my area use these on unopened pull out engines. My last salvage engine had them and I was the first one to take the heads off of it
