Hay everyone this is only my 2nd post here I been reading all the stickys and other posts and have had all Q's pretty much answered. I'm starting all my boltons I've gathered in the past few months next week. Kook's LT's & ORY, ls6 intake, hooker cat back, !egr, !air, !cats, Kmember, LCA's, panhard, spec3, ngktr55, msd wires, and hptuner. Ive searched ls1 how to On the ls6 and read to watch out for oil press sending unit. I'm also doing pcv catch can. I got arp header studs and the metal gm gaskets, and good band clamps for pipes. One question I had was the studs do I double nut the stud and torque stud in to 18ftlb and would loctite be a good idea. Any other info, tips would be great. oh Also haveing dino tune when finished.

Don't torque the studs. Just bottom them out by hand. Torque only the nuts. I'd put anti-sieze on the stud, but you can put loctite.

About that oil pressure sending unit...put your hand on it before you take the intake off. Feel exactly where its at and feel the brake booster hose. The point where the brake booster hose is attached is what will break the sending unit. You must lift up on the intake in the back before you pull forward. If you pull forward in the slightest bit you will break the sending unit. One way you might can avoid this is to get a socket to fit the sending unit (Available at auto parts store), disconnect the wire (might want to tie a string to this wire so you dont lose it), and then put the socket on top of the sending unit. With this in place it will force you to lift the intake up otherwise the intake wont go anywhere because it will hit the socket. Just food for thought. After breaking mine and seeing exactly what I did I could prevent the problem easy now. Just trying to save you some money and grief.
