Angry reasonable exhaust for convertible?

hello, ive spent a few days searching for a good exhaust and so far im settled on magnaflow or borla Pro XS, i have a 1999 trans am LS1 with a drop top, i can tell that road noise is already slightly an issue at the moment (however i can ignore it no big deal) but i was wondering does anyone have any suggestions for a muffler that is throaty but not too loud? im planning on insulating around the frame and doors sometime so i can get a little louder, but im just asking because i had my 3.4l straightpiped for a while and it was too loud to enjoy in a coupe. and im concerned since its a canvas top itll essentially be a similar sound. any suggestions are widely appreciated. if there are any forums where this has been brought up regarding the convertible LS cars please direct me there as i havent found any yet thank you

Well you probably don’t want to straight pipe it. Are you looking for a cat-back kit or a totally custom exhaust? With the borla cat-back, you can change the plates (or use an electric cutout) to make it quieter or louder.

I'm looking for a cat back type in the future, but just for a little while I wanna slap a muffler on it at the moment, my father has a magnaflow and I'm thinking of going that route since I will only be changing the muffler this year not a large portion of the exhaust

A cat-back type? Anyway, so changing just the muffler, that would be a custom exhaust. Not may people just change the muffler, so idk.

Hooker aerochamber and Magnaflow are both excellent options.
