QuickTime bellhousing starter interference

Hi guys, I have an aluminum 5.3 with a QuickTime t56 Magnum bellhousing. I am trying to bolt up a 2010 Camaro starter ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0031IBRZA/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_YPs8EbS3PM9PF )

I am using the engine plate that comes with the bellhousing.

The nose of the starter is hitting with about 1/4" left until the starter touches the block. Seems like a crazy amount to have to grind away. Is this a common problem, or is this something weird with this starter? I chose this starter because of its small size.

Same issue. Did you ever find any info on this. I have a LS2 from a GTO and QuickTime

I am having the same issue. The same bellhousing. Did anyone ever have a fix for this.
