On my three Z28s and one WS6, I've had one SLP and two different Whisper lids that were used across those four different cars. No rubbing with any of those lid/hood combos. I don't think Whisper lids have been sold for many years now, but I still have one in service that I bought 15+ years ago for my '98 car. Not sure why your SLP lids have rubbed, but that's probably the brand I would buy today if I needed one.
Or you could look for an SLP/Blackwing lid (found on '02 Firehawks and also part of the optional 345HP package on '02 SS). This lid was built to OEM standards and should not ever have fitment issues. They are super expensive though, and can only be bought used at this point. Flow is comparable to any aftermarket lid with a stock-sized MAF opening.

I've got whisper lids on both of my cars because I was a fan of thunder racing and gm high-tech performance back in the day, I've got a factory SS hood on one of my cars now and it doesn't rub at all. Good luck finding one these days though
