Need some opinions on 5.3
I have a 1969 camaro with a 2006 5.3 40,000 miles and 4L60e with 3.73 posi rear. My plan is as follows
1. Fast intake 92mm
2. BTR Stage 2 V2 truck cam with springs
3. Add trunion kit
4. 3000 stall converter
5. Long tube headers
6. Warr throttle body 92mm or a fast 90mm not sure which...Can get a good price on the 90mm fast if I go that way.
So far I have the headers and Manifold, didnt buy the throttle body yet. I am not married to the cam or converter yet, but its more of a driver than racer. Weekend driver not daily.
This will be tuned when completed. Right now its driveable but a ls6 manifold an headers with tune, PSI harness so its a stock ECM. . The car has AC also.
Any suggestions or am I on the right track here?
With the cam you mention (good choice!) you will have a ton of low end torque, with stock levels up to 3100, where the Stage 2pulls away with 20ft/lb gains all the way to peak
put those dollars towards ported heads. Even a set of 5.3l ported heads slightly milled for an increase in CR.
I am not married to the stall converter at all. Just wanted to optimize my build correctly. Since I cant debate this over a few beers with my fellows, I am opening myself up for comments on doing this correctly. At this time the suspension is being updated, meaning my first attempt rides like ****. I am adding coilovers in the front with a ridetech 4 link in the rear with coilovers also. I want to enjoy the car, not make it a chore to drive..
