Kooks Y Pipe Question
Kooks sells their Y pipe with cats attached and it can be found for $756 from vendors.
Kooks also sells the cats with the legs welded on if I just wanted to keep the original Y from my Y pipe. That set up, not on their website or catalog is about $780. Yes, its crazy.
So, my thought was initially to buy those legs but at that price its not economically smart.
Here are my options I think:
I could have welded a a set of cats to the two legs on my Y pipe. It means finding someone who welds stainless steel. Not easy. As a matter of fact, striking out.
The subquestions here are Kooks non epa compliant flow through stainless cats? about $136 each I think. Regular cats a bit less. Maybe not stainless?
If I can't find someone to weld them, maybe expand the 3 inch stainless leg pipes to slide and clamp the cats?
I know another option is to leave the roar, but I work on a Federal facility and they tend to frown on something with that much noise.
Bite the bullet and buy the Y pipe with cats?
Any other options to quiet this down?
