Smile Flexible Dipstick

Ok fellow discussion members. I am quite sure this subject is out there on these boards, but cannot find the specific answer I am looking for, so here it goes. I am have installed my new RPM transmission into my 02 bird with the engine as well and would like to use the LOKAR flexible transmission dipstick tube instead of the stock tube for a cleaner engine bay look. Who has used this and where can it be mounted in the engine bay? I am looking to see if anyone has pictures of theirs mounted and installed. Also, I have seen pro's and cons on it, but this is not a track car or daily driver, so swapping trans out is not going to be needed. Once i get the fluid in and confirm the level, just routine Maintenance will be needed on it. Opinions are always welcome as well.

Thanks - James

The Lokar dipstick mount and tube for me are bolted to the center of the firewall. Its a bit of a reach to check the fluid level but not bad.

Thanks B52 - do you have a picture of yours located on the firewall? I have the 36" long version coming and thought I could to the shock tower, but after I get the main fluid in once trans and engine in, just use it for checking fluid as needed. Thanks

No pictures but not a lot of imagination required here either. It is slightly to the passenger side of the firewall and mounted with two self-tapping sheet metal screws - 5/16ths of an inch socket head screws. Just make sure there is nothing important on the other side of the firewall that these screws will horribly find going in.

On a 4th gen, I think it would be difficult to mount it on the firewall.
