LS6 VS LSXR 102 intake
but i have a 2000 T/A
stock bottom end, BTR stage 3 cam kit " push rods and springs from BTR. LS7 lifter and trays,
millings high pressure oil pump LS3 timing chain, head bolt kit, LS9 head gasket, trunion upgrade,
camshaft retainer plate, long tube headers, catless Y pipe to an electric cut out, SLP wisper Lid,
i also just bought a nitrous outlet plate kit i plan to run a 100-150 shot on.
right now i have stock heads but will be going 243's possibly ported since there pretty cheap,
my question is i have a LSXR 102/102 intake set up with LS3 fuel rails and 42lb injectors,
some say this intake set up is to much for the motor and i should run a LS6 instead. my question is
why is the LS6 better? is it the velocity the air will travel into the motor from the intake?
i also plan on doing more work to my car like a 383 stroker kit
and dont want to throw more money on a intake if ill have to change it down the road.
any feedback will be appreciated been sitting and lingering on this for to long.
Some tuners struggle with getting good driveability with a 102 TB & LSXR intake on a stock cube LS1.
In my experience a 92 TB and matched intake like a 92 Fast makes an excellent combination, lots of hp gain and easier to tune. The Fast 92 intake can also be easily ported for more gains.
A modified 90mm snout LS6 intake is also pretty decent but can't be taken apart or easily ported for more gain. Hacking the snout off the stock LS6 and bonding on a 90mm snout is pretty old school at this point. The stock LS6 well there's lots of better options now days.
