Default motor mount question

I did a search, but it pulled up like 1370 pages or some crazy number and it was just to popular of word to have any luck with, so I'll throw it out to you guys...

98 SS 40K... I've got a set of Kooks LT's waiting for me at home hopefully I'll be getting back around September, so I can put them on... BUT while I have the headers off, would it be foolish of me not to put a new motor mount in?

From what I've found doing the driver side only is MUCH more 'street friendly' So that's what I'd probably do, if it seems to be the popular vote...

Yay or Nay on the new motor mount on the DS? Also I've only found them on spohns website so far, and its not a rubber mount, just looks like a steel mount... Is this what the "better" mount looks like?

Thanks guys.

I got the Prothane poly mounts for both sides on my SS, feels fine, not rough. I would do both while the headers are out, much easier. Can't hurt

try a search for "poly motor mounts" in this forum. there is a lot of easy to find info in the results.

i just put on a drivers side. it works very well. the engine dosn't torque over during launches on slicks now and i didn't notice anymore vibrations (than the car previously had).

and yes, you would be foolish not to do it when the headers are off. probably like a 15 minute job then. but, if you do it after you put on your headers like orange peel and i did it takes probably 3 hours just to do the drivers side.

It takes some muscle drilling the rivets and burning the stock mounts off of the brackets. I did it at the same time as my cam cam install and I swear it was harder to do the mounts than the entire cam install. Now that it's done, phew. Expect it to be a PITA, but since you have the headers out it should be no prob. Just take your time.
