flowmaster catback or custom catback with flowmaster 3"

Default flowmaster catback or custom catback with flowmaster 3"

Can anyone tell me if this is a custom made catback with 3" intermediate pipe flowmaster installed 3" tips or an aftermarket flowmaster catback thats sold off the shelf and which one? Can you tell if its an exhaust shop made y pipe or a brand name? It is a 3" catback and polished 3" tips and i thought stock was 2.75" Flowmaster US Patents 6089347 4574914 4809812 5123502 5444197 & FGN Patents Any idea whats a good price fot the catback used?

I'd guess it's an 80 series crossflow. They sound nice but most think they are restrictive.

Wannafbody is right about the muffler, but the rest is scabbed together; a really sloppy job. Even Flowmaster does a far better job.
"Custom" is not the word that comes to mind either....

ah i see the y-pipe is muffler shop made the car had stainless steel headers that i cut these straight off of. Any idea if the muffler or catback is a flowmaster? It is nice 3" piping conformed to f-body like other catbacks to the weird y-pipe. Tucked up nicely on a 2000 ss that was wrecked. SO it should be better then a stock 2 3/4 catback. It should be worth maybe 200$ and maybe 250$ with the y-pipe? Positive its not a flowmaster catback system? Hate to sell it as a knock off if it were. Would work great for someone on a budget with factory manifolds or headers down to the 3" y pipe lol. Theres one on ebay with flowmaster tips for 98-02 camaro looks nearly the same for 300$ but the part number on muffler is the same. 1998-2002 Camaro SS Firebird Trans Am Flowmaster Cat Back Exhaust LS1 5.7L P1 | eBay Is it possible it be a 98-02 ls1 f-body catback like in this listing as muffler and hangar are the same just its welded vs clamped. If you look closely mine has the same exact 3 pole hanger for factory mounting points on both sides. This other flowmaster kit has the same 3 pole hanger. To me, this section looks hand-cobbled. Whoever built it may have simply cut off the factory hangers, etc. and welded them on their homemade design. Probably best to call it a catback system with flowmaster muffler to not potentially misrepresent it. I'm sure if you throw it up for $200 someone will either buy it or make a close enough offer if local. Shipping probably wouldn't be cheap.

I honestly think you might do better to sell the muffler and scrap the crappy pipes.
I wouldn't even credit a muffler shop for such shoddy work. Homegrown at best...

Some of the Flowmaster catbacks were actually worse ie more restrictive than the stock exhaust back in the day. Hard to believe but true, have seen folks lose ~7 whp with the bottom of the barrel Flowmaster mufflers.

Personally wouldn't give $10 for the whole cobbled up system. However, you can probably get $150 or so out of it on fleabay.

I would not even think of putting that crap on anything other than the the v6 engines. The legit flowmaster systems were worse than the factory exhaust, and that looks like some homemade abomination.

Noticed you mis-spelled Slowmaster. Fixed it for you. They sound good, but that’s about it.
