Default Header install fitment
Hey guys so I’m not looking for a write up on how to install headers but I am curious of everyone who has already done it to ask this,

Those who have installed headers on ls1 fbody car have you installed them with the transmission removed and were able to reinstall the transmission after ?

I am asking because I am planning to do my rear main seal in the near future and some other miscellaneous stuff and had the thought about installing headers at the same time but am not sure if the transmission will go back up if I install the headers first.

If this info helps the car will still have a stock subframe, I would be replacing motor mounts at the same time, header size would be 1 3/4 probably Texas speed brand with their y pipe for now

The transmission will not interfere with the installation of long tube headers and I've attached a video that explains it.

I THINK the OP was mainly concerned about installing the transmission with the headers in place. Is it possible?

Yes and it should not be an issue as I've never had to remove LT's to drop a transmission.

Thanks for the reply I appreciate it, this is good to know. I think I know what I’ll be doing when I get my car on the lift for the rear main now
