Default O2 Sensor Confusion

Hi All:
Late 03 Z06 getting an LSA Swap.
I have the last version of XS_Power's Cat Less LT system. I Test fit them prior to CeraKote and they fit GREAT! Here's my Questions for the Exhaust Guru's here.

There are 5 Bungs - 2 in the collectors, 2 just before the X and another there for a Wide Band? which I will be using because of the blower.

1- Do I even need the ones at the X if I'm running No Cats? I'll definitely be running the ones in the collectors (Flat Plug)

2- I've read that some people run the Downstream O2's (Square Plug) in the collectors (upstream). Why would this be a 'thing'? I'll probably have to extend the Upstream wires a little - most extensions are 24" - WAY too much - I'll 0nly need 12" max and maybe only the Pass Side. If I put the Square plug O2's in the collectors I'll have to get an adapter to go from Square to Flat. Still, not sure why anyone would do that other than their longer wire. Here's a Pic of the front of the system sitting on the OEM Z06 exhaust. I'd like to keep this as simple as possible.

I sure could use some education on this and I'd like to get a dialog going with someone that knows a bit about it.
Thanks SO much for any help!!

If not running cats, the 2nd sensors serve no purpose. They exist to confirm the cats are working.

you might be able to mix and match if one or the other is easier to access!

Not sure what you mean by that. The system is designed for the Flat connectors to go to the manifolds (close) and the squares to go BEHIND the cats (far). If i used 1 of each wouldn't that confuse the PCM? They would be 2 VERY different heat readings. Are they the same sensor - other than wire length & connector shape?
This is why the title had 'Confusion' in it. But I've often been accused of thinking TOO much.
I kinda thought that GAtsma's answer was the way - why put another sensor >12" away from his buddy if no cats or ?.
I'm probably further ahead getting extensions for the collector sensors, wrapping them in Heat Shield, HP Tuning the others out and calling it a day - Agree??
What's the best way to cap the plug under the hood - or just let it open? If I put tape on them it will melt quick as they are 8" above the collectors and there is no room for anything luxurious in a C5's engine bay. (a REAL 5# bag!)
Thanks for taking the time guys!! You are both very generous with it.

I just found this from MMS..12" LS1 LS6 Corvette C5 Rear to Front Primary O2 Sensor Connector Adapter Harness

Oxygen Sensor O2 front to back adapter harness. This harness allows you to convert your 4 pin Black Square O2 connector to the Flat 4 pin style connector or vice versa.

For 1997-2003 Corvette C5 and Z06 applications: Allows you to use your rear downstream secondary O2 sensors as your primary front O2 sensors when installing aftermarket long tube headers. The rear O2s are much longer than the front O2 sensors, so this will eliminate the need for extension cables for your front O2 sensors. This is great for applications where only the front O2 sensors are used and the rears are deleted/tuned out from the PCM.

Male Flat 4 pin LT1/LS1 style connector to Male Square black 4 pin LS1 style connector
Allows you to convert your 4 pin Black Square O2 connector to the Flat 4 pin style connector or vice versa
Eliminates the need for extension cables for 1997-2003 Corvettes by using your rear O2 sensors with this adapter

Seems like this has been addressed before. If this is the case would I just cap the collector's O2 bung and run the only O2 at the easier, rear location? Is there any problem with the sensor being farther away from the port (by approx 10"?) - would that skew the signal going to the PCM? ARE they the same sensor - just longer wire? The headers have well placed bungs - no crazy contortionist crap to R&R any of the 5 locations. What location would YOU GUYS use?
Thanks again !!

I tried some used flat style after cat o2s that read good on a 04 gto i think and they messed up my 99 corvette as front o2 flat style connectors insufficient activity but i guess if youre using new o2 sensors. I got some new AFS75 after having 92k mile stock o2 problems for the front with o2 extensions that came with the tsp headers and didn't have codes till the cam swap tune heater circuit/ insufficient activity and havent had codes pop back up i think they have longer extensions 18-24". Yeah that further back one should be the front style flat o2 sensor on that side. I have no idea why its not inline with the other side symmetrical.
