Default throttle body question

I bought a new to me FAST 92 (that's what it was advertised as) and the blade was shaved. Will I need any kind of retune on my car? Also...it looks like maybe it was ported? the inner part of the TB where the air box boots up to is like stepped down like it was put in a CNC its not smooth like the holley I had on it. The Holley was a 92 and the FAST throttle body opening actually engulfs the entire Holley 92 opening. Did I get a 102 instead of a 92??? it was bought on facebook marketplace so possibly the person selling it misidentified it??

You might want to look into a Nick Williams 92mm TB. I've got one with my FAST92 and the combo works great. I did get a retune, but mainly to have the EGR taken out so that I'd get rid of the engine light. My A/F ratios were slightly off too before the re-tune. Can you drive it with out a re-tune, sure. Do you want to get on it and nail it without a re-tune? I wouldn't...

If your RPMS went up that high either you have a massive vacuum leak or the TB idle screw is cranked way open.

I swapped the Holley back on and things are back to normal. My tuner said they would need to retune bc of the shaved blade etc. I also think it’s a 102 not a 92mm. They also told me to unplug throttle position sensor, cycle key and plug it back in.

You don't indicate whether this is a DBC, or DBW... I'll assume DBC... If that is the case, try the TPS and IAC reset as you mentioned. Then, with the set screw-close the throttle blade a little bit to see if you can get the RPM's down. Please post back and let us know if you are able to get it to idle normally.

If you still can't get it to idle, you could try using your IAC from the TB you were switching out. I'm curious to see if you can actually get the thing to idle correctly. I've had some recent experience with a 92MM throttle body. It did not end well for me and I'm curious to see if you can fare any better.. I sent you a PM.

At what HORSEPOWER level does the OE throttle body become a limitation ?
Are we able to make 550 or 600 crank horsepower through stock GenIII truck throttle ?
