Default Plug wires for headers

Would like recommendations on plug wires for use with speed engineering long tube headers.
This is a 2006 Silverado 1500 with the 5.3.
I hear 45 degree boots is what I need.
I saw where speed engineering has their own line of plug wires with correct boots. Anyone have feedback on these?

In my experience a new set of stock AC Delco spark plug wires work great. They even have a metal heat shield that helps protect the wire from heat.

Have also had good experiences with MSD's plug wires.

To the note above about using stock AC Delco plug wires, I also added the high temperature cloth, heat resistant tubes of plug wire protection to each wire. They are available on Ebay for short money in a variety of colors. Using some needle nose pliers, I pulled the metal ring out of each cloth tube to gain some slack in the cloth so that each tube would sit further down around each metal AC Delco spark plug protecting tube.

Now my Blackheart headers can't harm my plug wires.

Mmm, interesting. I thought the OEM straight boots would contact the header tubes.

Correct. MSD's with the bendable boots is what you want to clear the header primaries.

Last time I went to the dyno, I had several wires that had burned through the fiberglass sleeves I had over them. The dyno guy said he wasn’t a fan of those, since in his opinion they just hide damage, they don’t prevent it.

He recommended the MSD ceramic boot wires.

It just depends on what brand. I've installed some that can use the stock wires/heat shields, other I had to use the MSD wires.

I ran my Silverado for years ac delco stock replacement wires with TSP headers with no issues. Just turn the boots on the coil end to pull the wires away from the primaries. Never burned through.

This! the OE wires are fine, and can be removed without breaking the ends.

Been running the Hinson 45° plug wires for a little over 4 years. They dont touch any primaries and havent burned a single one. I threw my MSD's in the trash because they were an absolute bitch to engage/disengage on the coil packs. That and one plug boot ripped off.

Good choice but expensive. But, they have a lifetime warranty.

Yes, plug boot tear offs are common with a number of after market sets. The Delcos will eventually tear off, but only after years of on and off removal.
