raising stock air box Played around today with the stock 2001 airbox. If you loosen stock bolts you can get almost a half inch raised above stock. Stock nostril is 1 inch tall so increasing airflow area by 50 percent. That's all for the price of some skate board truck pads and a little bit of weather stripping. Will post photos of the final. Also going to try and route 2" flex hose from air intake vents on bumper through styrofoam and direct into nostril. Not sure it will be enough room to work but for 12.00 worth of cheap 2" flex I will get a chance to see if a path can be had before I cut through the styrofoam. going to test the vent path airflow with a leaf blower. Interested in how much flow is available in stock setup where there is no direct path from vent to nostrils of airbox. If it wasn't for that mammoth window washer reservoir there would be more options.
