Default Mystery PCV System *Please Help*

New to the LS swap world so be gentle. Recently purchased a swapped car with what I believe to be '99-'01 5.3L truck engine (862 heads). Doesn't look right to me, I have researched for something like this without success. Really odd with the (2) connections at TB. It runs seemingly well but a ride around block produced an oil fill cap blow off. Any help would be appreciated. Questions coincide with numbers on pictures.

#1 Throttle body nipple open
#2 Intake nipple to passenger valve cover tube
#3 Drivers side rear valve cover connected to "some" nipple on rear of intake
#4 TB cooling lines. Cap off?
#5 To radiator

Normally both throttle body nipples are used, with the "forward" (#1)TB nipple feeding clean metered-by-MAF air into whichever valve cover has the unrestricted nipple, air passing thru engine picking up nasties on its way to the opposite valve cover with restricted nipple to be routed to the rear most (#2) nipple on the TB.
#4 both can be capped. #5 is "steam line" and is correct

That is a mismatch of intake and throttle body as well as a smoothed intake with the OEM PCV port removed on top. Usually either the throttle body or the manifold has a nipple on the passenger front, not both that goes to the passenger valve cover. Then the manifold has a PCV fitting on top that runs to the driverside valve cover.

DBC TB has the fitting on the throttle body. DBW intake has a simple hole in the throttle body that lines up with the matching port in the intake and the manifold has a nipple and a passageway to that hole in the throttle body.

So cap the #3 on back of intake and run that hose from PCV port on drivers rear valve cover to #2. Then connect #1 to passenger valve cover tube? Thanks much

Negative, 1 and 2 are both vents and not connected to manifold vacuum.

I would get a stock DBC intake that is not smoothed and put it back stock myself. Not a fan of weakening an intake by smoothing it nor altering the PCV flow to the intake.

Welcoming the feedback guys! Thought that intake was pretty wonky myself. Only reason I see they may have done that to intake would be for clearance. This is in a 66 El Camino without a cowl hood. So really no options to make this work for now? Guess we go shopping.... Any leads?

Cleanest way would be pull the metal nipple out of the TB, tap the hole and put a pipe plug. Temporarily a rubber vacuum cap on one or the other nipples would work.

Does this still have the truck accessory bracket on the driver side. I cannot tell from the picture.

I have done several swaps and generally the truck intake is not what I use under the hood of a muscle car. Stock 5.3L works very well with a LS1 intake when the accessories are relocated from the stock truck layout. Can normally find a clean LS1 intake for half of what people think some sun bleached white LS6 is worth.
