I'm in the middle of an engine swap and would like to get rid of some of the junk under the hood. What is the part in the photo? It's under the frame on the passenger side, in front of the front sway bar. There is a small plastic tube attached. I haven't completely traced the tube but it looks like it goes back towards the ECM and then across the back of the engine. I think it may be part of the emissions equipment that is going away but want to make sure before I pull it.
Looks like a vacuum reservoir to keep things like the HVAC door motors and cruise control from losing their effect when vacuum drops (throttle is opened).
Personally I think I'd keep it.

RVO4Av, you were correct. The tube goes to a tee on the back of the HVAC unit. The pipe on the other end of the tee goes to the vacuum port on the intake. At the back of the intake there is a tee. One port goes to the HVAC unit, the other to the air injection system.
