3/8 exhaust bolts

Has anyone tapped exhaust bolt holes for 3/8? Is there enough meat around the holes for that? Would rather do that than helicoil.

I've done it with success on LS and Volvo engines with factory M8 hardware. 3/8 stainless stuff wont break. Don't go too deep!

If you go stainless make sure you put "never seize" on the threads. Either a 3/8" bolt or heli-coil you will still have to drill and tap.

3/8 work

Yesterday I drilled and tapped the head for 3/8-16 exhaust bolts and it worked well. I didn't go any deeper than the original holes.
