Default Header corrosion question

Has anyone ever seen headers corrode everywhere except one cylinder primary? I’ve had these BBK headers on the car for close to 12 years. No misfires or trouble codes. 98 trans am and just did a cam swap and noticed this condition. Just curious what people’s thoughts are.

Weird. 12 years is a long time so hard to tell, looks like that cylinder wasn’t firing for an unknown amount of time. Ever check with a temp gun to see what all cylinders are reaching at idle?

or someone smarter than me will come along

Fabricator ran out of mild steel pipe and substituted with stainless steel?

Doesn't look stainless... that usually turns a sort of chocolate brown color, but of course doesn't get all flaky and red like regular steel, the way the other primaries are.

Looks to me more like that cylinder has never run the whole time those headers have been on there.

What does your IR heat gun say the temp of that one is compared to the temps of the others?

Thanks for the replies! I thought about a different material but it’s rusted further down toward the collector same as the others. I just picked up a temp gun. I’ll get some readings today and post them up

All cylinders read around 420-440 except this one. It’s anywhere from 190-220. Picture shows cylinders

3 and 5 plugs. You see any difference? Swapped them and measured temp and no difference. Swapped coil packs and no difference

So, yeah... for all practical purposes, not running. Looks kinda like it's not getting any fuel.
