Single Plane EFI Intake Manifolds
Single Plane EFI Intake Manifolds a combination of vanity and boredom got me looking into different intake manifolds. I currently have a gen 3 truck intake on my LQ9 and it looks kinda (very) ugly even in my unpolished, kinda rough, 1970 Tempest. I was originally thinking of getting a TBSS intake because they do look slightly better and seem to be a great performing intake for the price. I have also been contemplating an ebay single plane EFI (MPFI) intake with an equally cheap ebay 4150 style TB. Ebay parts come out to about $250 so not much more than TBSS
Would I be giving up a ton of low end? I assume I would be losing some with the shorter runners but would it be noticeable? It's not a race car but it's nice to have some get up and go. Car is about 3400lbs, LQ9 with 862 heads (11.5:1?), 222/234 115LSA (summit stage1 cam) and 3k stall converter, holley terminator.

You must have never seen what a truck intake can look like when someone shaves and paints it. They do not have to remain ugly blobs with weird **** sticking out at all angles. And yes, you would lose a noticeable amount of power almost everywhere. Every dyno test I have seen shows the single plane carb style intakes for these motors being garbage. The only place they maybe don't lose power is at the very top of the rpm range, and that depends on which one you get.
