Default MODS-Please move to external!! A/C kicking off at idle-CURED!!......

Some here may remember I was trying for several years to find a "gremlin" that disengaged the A/C compressor on my 2000 C5. This happened only at idle. Anyway, I have finally figured it out. Apparently, the 25% UD balancer is to blame for this. I talked to another individual that also had a 2000 C5 with a 25% UD balancer that also had this issue. He also tried everything, but the issue remained. He solved it when he replaced the 25% UD balancer with a 10% UD balancer. No more issues. I thought Id pass this along now that I know what causes this. It may not be applicable to Camaro's, G8's, etc. But it has finally been solved. Apparently the compressor disengaged due to the reduced rpm not producing enough system pressure at idle speeds. Then the PCM disengages the compressor, thinking there's not enough refrigerant to safely run it. I proved this on my own car, which was at the tuner recently. We deliberately raised the idle rpm 25% to compensate for the underdriven speeds. Bingo!!! Never disengaged when idling at 1,000 rpm. Hope this helps someone. Posting in Gen III because the car is a Gen III, even though the motor is a GEN IV. Probably should've posted this in GEN III EXTERNAL. Sorry for posting in the wrong section.....
