When I pulled my engine, I noticed that on the bottom side of my exhaust ports, the MLS gaskets extended so far down that they didn't seal the very bottom of my manifolds to the heads. These are AFR Enforcer heads, which are supposed to have stock location ports, so I can't understand why these gaskets aren't working. The very end ports are the worst, because for some reason, they have these flat spots at the top and bottom that actually make the gasket opening larger. So I had to source some different gaskets that weren't MLS with a smaller port opening. Has anyone else ran into this problem? I should add, this is a turbo setup with stock truck manifolds, so there's ample.clamping surface.
That's not the shape of stock ANYTHING. Looks like the wrong gaskets, except that there shouldn't be any such thing.
What brand are they? Have you tried other brands? I've had good results with Remflex; they're not MLS, butt w/e; they don't seem to overhang stock ports, at least.
