Default Need Help ASAP Pulley install

I am installing a ASP crank pulley an A4 Z28 2k2. What is the best way to lock the engine so i can get the crank bolt off. I have heard the method of taking the starter off, and also the screwdriving in the converter method. But i need pics or some better explanation we just cant figure it out over here.
