Default Alternator not charging

I have replaced the alternator, and it still is not charging. Is there any way to get the alternator to charge without using the PCM?? Like the old style that does not run through the computer. It is a 1999 LS1. Any help would be great!!

You would have to use a 98 alternator to charge without the PCM. Then rewire it to operate.
Have you checked for power at the output lug on the rear of the alternator?
Possible your new alt. is no good?

Yeah,have it converted to a one-wire set-up. That's what I did.

Listen to wrencher. I put in a reman alternator and it was bad out of the box. Check that before going any further.

My 98 still needs the PCM to get the alternator to work. Don't ask me how I know.
