Default Fan On, Engine Off

I noticed today that my fan stayed on after turning off the engine. Temps were pretty high, around 235.

Any idea what they are set to and how to change them??

I didnt know they stayed on... I would leave it be, so it cools the motor down.

mine did the same thing when I bought it last year. Change the t-stat and that'll solve your problem.

I already have a 160. With the AC on and the ATI fan. Temps can get pretty high.

I was hoping there was a way to set the turn on temp lower.

slponline has a sensor kit that lets the fan turn on sooner than the stock setup.

they are set at 230* on. odd they stayed on after you turned the key off though. you can either buy the SLP fan switch or buy a handheld like this one from VHP http:www.stealthram.com/vhptuner.htm and turn them on sooner and do some tuning while you are at it.

If i remember right on the stock ait lids it does mention something along the lines that your fan may kick on if the engine is shut off

I already tune with EDIT. And have my fans set to turn on @ 180*.

There must be another sensor to keep the fans on after the engine is turned off.

This is right.

The fan is suppose to keep running until it gets below the cut off temp.

If your motor is 235 degrees.. why would you not want your fan to keep running?

there is just 1 ECT sensor, it must have dual functionality in the PCM for engine on and engine off, overtemp override.

Not when the engine is turned off. What I was wondering is can you can drop the turn on temp?

I would think there would be two sensors. Could the PCM use it if the engine is turned off?

That is what I am trying to accomplish. I want to set the turn on temp lower.
