Victors are ordered!

Well i broke down today and went to ramchargers, ordered my set of edelbrock victor race headers. No emissions :) They are goin to be painted, no ceramic for me. cost 500 bucks for headers and Y with that merge collector. Im all exciteD :) anyone have any install tips on these particular headers? what did you have to do to make yours fit?

C4VetteLS1 08-18-2004 05:53 PM

To fit mine, I bolted them in.

ohhiitznik 08-18-2004 07:12 PM

haha so you didnt have to take anything out, they just slid in?

riddler 08-19-2004 02:54 AM

Haven't done it myself but heard from 2 people that they slide in like a greased pig :007:

yep extremely easy to put in. You'll really like them, they come with 02 extensions, new gaskets, new bolts, AIR/EGR tubes to weld up if you so desire, 02 bungs to weld up wherever you want to, merge slip fit collectors, the works. I got mine back in march when I first heard about them, and they were a breeze to put in.

they sound great behind a Trex cam also with open headers, I clamped a pair of 3.5" moroso spiral flow mufflers to the collectors to quiet things down a tad, I've gotten tons of compliments about how my car sounds, mostly from old school sbc/bbc car guys that had no idea you could get an LS1 to sound like that :)

Great headers! As said before, sound WICKED behind a T-rex. I have mine hooked up to the Ed y-pipe made for these and a Hooker catback, sounds AWESOME!

As for install, wait til after the headers are in to put on the collectors.

Are the o2 extensions premade? or do you have to cut your o2's and splice...?

Premade, just route how you want to and hook them up. Plug and play.

Nice! Now I can sell my others

Nobody has had problems with the paint peeling off?

BuckeyeROC 08-19-2004 08:57 AM

The paint that comes on them will burn off on first startup, like all headers. I thought about getting them Jet Hot'ed, but everyone said with longtubes, it just comes off anyway, as will paint. So I just threw mine on. Collectors are still black, but the headers are grey now.

I had Jet Hot on my shorty headers and y-pipe on my IROC. It stayed on the headers for years, but the y-pipe was rusted after awhile. I think it's just the nature of the beast. I just couldn't see spending $350+ on coating that was going to come off soon on LT's anyway.

so do you ahve to weld in some o2 bungs? or are they already prepared to plug the sensors in?

God of Thunder 08-19-2004 06:38 PM

you have to weld them on. theres nothing on them at all, but they come with everything
