Question AC pulley and balancer bolt?

I'm about to order asp crank pulley, AC belt and accessory belt from thunder racing and i was wondering what the "balancer bolt" actually did-what good is it-what does it do-is it worth the 25$?

Thanx guys

A new bolt is a must to do the job.

The $25 bolt is the ARP version. The stock GM one is $3-$4 at a dealer. The stock bolt should be changed anytime it is loosened as it is a TTY bolt. The ARP version can be reused.
