How much exhaust CFM is necessary? I found someone locally to handle the custom y-pipe I need. I'm not sure about the collector diameter on my 1 3/4" Grot's, but I presume it's 3-3.5". I was planning on 3" mandrel-bent y-pipe attaching to a SLP D/D cat-back, with 3" cats and an electric cutout.
I think my Grot y-pipe came with Carsound cats, but I was hoping to find something a bit smaller for more ground clearance as well as tucking it up to the chassis easier. The Carsounds appear to flow 400CFM, the RT 703's 535CFM, and the small RT's 327CFM. How much power will each pair of these support?
So are there any rules of thumb saying you need XXX CFM for YYY RWHP?
