Side pipes with x or h pipe?

Default Side pipes with x or h pipe?

I was wondering while looking at all these new True Duals that people have. I think I would want trual duals out the back(over axle) or just out both sides with some sort of h-x pipe setup. I dont want turndowns before the axle. Anyone have what im thinking of now? pic? I will not disregard ground clearance either. I currently have SS Kooks with ORY and the SLP catback. If i did custom side exit is the h-x pipe a waste? Should i maybe put a cat on either side or is that a waste not getting hot enough to even work? The TD's that go over the axle are 2 1/2 no? So they use a 3 - 2 1/2 cat or reducer to get the smalller diameter?

I had an exhaust shop do the side exits on my 3rd gen. Sorry I don't have a pic, but I don't recommend it anyway. I drug those things on every little dip, bump, etc. in the road. I couldn't even get into my driveway. Forget about speed bumps.

Since you're from philly, ever heard of Alex's exhaust in bridgeport? He does great work. PM me for phone #. Alex might be able to do two over the axle.

I agree with Technical, side pipes drag on everything. As far as the x-pipe goes thet give a noticable difference in db levels and an increae in tq. The h-pipe set-up will be louder and the power increase will be more towards hp.

No way to make side pipes without killing ground clearance? What if i tuck them up in there? no shot huh? Ok maybe I will work on true duals over the axles.

You can only tuck 'em up so far, then they start banging the floorboards as well. They sounded great, but were sooooo much hassle.

You might be interested in running "siamesed" pipes from the cats back like the GTO does. Only I'd space them out instead of two tailpipes on one side.
