Whining and Lost Air Conditioning

Whining and Lost Air Conditioning hello,
i already searched, and did not find anything. for a few weeks, my car whined everytime the ac was on, and stopped, when i shut it off. now, i cannot get any cold air to blow, and there is no whining.
can someone please tell me what this might be? maybe the ac compressor? any advice will be good, too

edit: just found that it was a broken ac belt and a frozen compressor. if i want to but online and save dough, can anyone recommend?
