Cleaning oil gunk from intake manifold
So I was thinking of:
1. Spraying top engine cleaner into the manifold ports and cleaning them out with paper towels or rags
2. Putting the whole manifold into a bath tub filled with hot soapie water
3. Spraying the open ports with break cleaner and getting as much gunk out as possible with paper towels or rags.
Question:
So which is the best method; or should I just leave the oil gunk in place and not worry?
On the back of the intake manifold there is an electronic sensor that I believe is connected to the brake vacuume line. I assume it is a vaccume sensor.
Questions: Will the soapie water hurt the vacuume sensor. I assume the GM Top Cleaner is OK on this point... Did anyone deal with the oil-gunk caked on the intake ports of the heads? How?
Thanks....

BTW - I sprayed engine cleaner in mine, then shot high pressure water (hose nozzle) in there to clean it. Worked great.
