Default o2's go bad with open exhaust?

I run my car open cutout 98% of the time. And now hearing rumors of this being a bad idea on the sensors. I can say im having some slight issues in the lower RPM's.. My quesion is why would open exhuast ruin the sensor?

Guess it would depend on where the cutout is located. If it's near the back of the car.. I can see how it would harm the O2's.
