Stainless Steel Header Thread
Initial Thoughts
These headers are absolutely worth every penny. The quality of the material and especially the welds is very high. Everything is uniform and clean, very professional work to say the least. After a couple of hours with a SOS pad, these headers were more a work of art than an exhaust component.
Install
The install was fairly time consuming due to the fact that 1-7/8 tube headers fit with some pretty tight tolerances, 1-3/4 would have gone in with a little less effort. Once everything was removed and the headers were lined up, they slid right into place and fit better than most OEM components I’ve removed.
Fit
Everything clears fine, no clearancing of the k-member, block or body was required even for 1-7/8’s LT’s. The O/2 bungs are located on the inside of the headers and Y, this really helps everything line up and leaves you with a clean install.
Performance
Initially I had the KooKs 3” Y-Pipe with high flow Magna Flow Cats. The baseline dyno was 309/318 just before the install with nothing but a SLP Loudmouth cat back. After the installation of the headers, Y-Pipe and an MTI lid, the car put down 334/343
I then swapped in a KooKs off road Y-pipe and put down 340/353
Total increase is 31/35
I will defiantly buy KooKs for my next LSX rides, no question.

Along with the coating they should still be ok but bare 409 has still been known to show/allow some surface rust that 304 doesn't.
