Default cutout install location question

I know most people put single cutouts on the I-pipe, but I would like to avoid welding. I only have a single cutout and was thinking about putting it were the passenger side header meets the y-pipe, like it's illustrated on the box. Since theres only one cutout on one side, would it mess up the exhaust flow, not work as efficiently, not sound as nice as to being on the i-pipe, ect?

Hmmm?
Are you saying you want to run one open header? If that's what you're saying, then it really makes no sense to do that..

If you're gonna do one cutout, the only logical place is in the i-pipe where the little cubby hole is..

no, you bolt the cutout right were the header meets the y-pipe, goes in between the two.

It doesn't cost that much to have it welded in.

May aswell put 1 drag radial in the back and swap out one of the heads for a performance head and leave the other one stock

i have 3 cutouts

2 on the y-pipe (one on each side) and one on the I-pipe.

the one on the I-pipe gives me 20hp to the rear wheels and the ones on the y-pipe give me 10rwhp each.

so if your going to put only one, go with putting it on the I-pipe

Is the cutout in I pipe, in your application, there to get rid of the extra exhaust that is not caught by the two front cutouts?

Ok I guess i'll just weld it to the I-pipe. Cost wasn't my concern(I get everything and anything I want done for free ) I just really didn't want to cut and weld onto a $800 exhaust system. But gotta do what you gotta do

is the borla adjustable cutout just as efficient as a cutout in the i-pipe?

You should try to dyno it with the two on the y-pipe open and the one on the I-pipe closed. And then dyno with them all open and see if you gained anything. Wouldn't be that much of a gain, but I am just curious if you would gain anything.
