Exclamation Bolt ons and SOTP difference

alright guys lets hear it...what gives nice gains in terms of bolt ons on an 02 M6 ss...I know I've heard about the 4.10s but there has to be something other than that and short of a top end package right?

a lid and a throttle body should give you a sotp diffence...but i wouldn't expect much...headers will definatly give you a sotp difference as well as an exhaust..(as long as it is not a flowmaster haha) i doubt you will feel either the lid or the throttle body by themselves though...i'd stay away from a maf sensor since they seem to not help any and cost quite a bit of money...that's about all the bolt-ons i can think of...well i guess a supercharger is theoretically a bolt-on

Just do a bunch of bolt ons at once if you want to feel a difference. Headers, catback, ls6 intake and lid would probably do it for you.

I would do a full exhaust (LTs and ORY), cutout, and lid. You 'll def. feel that!

hes got an 02 ss, so ls6 intake is out of the question. Do a lid(a must for any ls1 no matter what) cat back/True duals, headers(anything but shorties they dont do jack) like said above, stay away from the 85mm MAF's. You can even do underdrive pullies and gears like u stated. Just becareful with the gears because that 10 bolt will go bye bye real soon with drop clutches

I think a TB is the best SOTP gain in terms of bolt-ons. Headers and other intake mods also help.

They can throw off your tuning, but if you have a tuning program there's no reason to stay away from them except money.

Well I grouped my mods together. The first thing I did was the cat-back, lid, K&N, and fra... Then I did the Z06 mass air, ported TB, ported ls6 intake, pulley and partial ls1 edit... Noticed a nice sotp feel w/ both sets of mods.

White 02 WS6 - Some people say not to get the 85mm Maf's because they throw codes and can not be tuned properly. But I got the the Granatelli version Z06 replacement (Delphi) from Speed Inc. for $150. This has not thrown any codes and they have the tables to tune these where it is a lot harder to tune with other meters.

Good luck w/ the mods...

Cut out on stock manifolds is the cheapest SOTP gain. IMO.

SOTP....hmmm. Id say a 4000rpm clutch dump on ET streets and a spec4 clutch would throw you back some.
Seriously though; all of the "Bolt-ons" add a slight sotp, the more you put on at once the more you'll notice. End of story.

I didn't notice too much with a lid or catback but noticed a little with the MAF in the mid rpm range. After headers were installed, everything seemed to work together and I definetly could tell a difference. Hopefully a pulley and programmer will give a noticeable difference also when I get them.
