Default Dual Vs. Catback (More Power?) (How much?)

How much more power can you get in going from a hi flow catback (example hooker, magnaflow etc, w y-pipe and hi-flow cat or no cat at all) set up to true duals with an x-pipe? I know it may have been asked before and I tried a search, but didnt see anything specific enough.

From what I've seen, you won't pick up much peak HP and TQ, but you'll pick up a lot of area under the curve (which = more HP and TQ throughout the entire RPM range). I'll find out in December as I go from a Kooks catted-y/Hooker setup to a catless, true dual x-pipe setup. I'll be doing a before and after dyno, and will be posting the results here for people like you to see.

I agree that it is supposed to be much better power under the curve. However, I think one of the main reasons many switch is for the sound. True Duals just sound so much better than a cat back, IMHO. They are so much deeper sounding.

I want to get the dual set up from Texas Speed but it is made for LS1's. what would i have to do to get it to fit my LT1, any1 ever try a LS1 setup on a LT1?

I'd say maybe 5-10hp 10 being on the optimistic side...but you will gain where it really counts...at the track (power under the curve)...sounds incredible too...which is why many switch (as previosly stated)..i don't know if i would expect a sotp gain though...i recommend going duals!
