How do I remove a starter on a 98 A4?

How do I remove a starter on a 98 A4? As in the title.
I wanted to remove my starter but I can't insert a socket to the lower bolt.
There isn't enough space between the bolt and the plastic cover located between the engine and the starter.
Right now I should brake the plastic
The transmission oil line are in the way also.
Who did this job already? How?
I know, it's not difficult at all but I really can't get that bolt out. I tried a wrench but it's too weak: the bolt is probably locked and really need a socket to come out.

Good idea, I'll give it a try.
I was also thinking to warm up the socket "a little" to melt the plastic right there where it needs.
Not an elegant solution but better than cut the plastic.

There's no need to melt anything. The smaller socket will work, it just takes a little muscle. I've done it on a 98 before. That's why they went to 13mm the next year and every year after.
