Default Driveshaft loops

Hi all, I am looking at driveshaft loops,

either the BMR loop, http://www.bmrfabrication.com/F-body...driveshaftloop (good deal on it right now)
or the UMI loop. http://www.umiperformance.com/2025.htm

I will be going true duals eventually, will my magnaflow X clear the loop? any one have any experience with these driveshaft loops? Like how much clearance they offer. I figure if they can clear a Flowmaster merge then they will probably clear the magnaflow X. Thanks for any help.

I would get whatever one bolts in without driveshaft removal. Those sound like the best to me. I forget who makes it though.

I don't think either of those do. On my BMR, I had to remove it.

FYI, my BMR bolts to the crossbrace; the pic you show looks welded ( Better! ) and I'm lowered. The BMR piece is the lowest hanging piece on the car and has all the scratches.

LM Performance sells three that are bolt-in two-piece driveshaft loops that can be installed without removing the driveshaft.

1) Lakewood (no pic, so here is a link)
http://go.mrgasket.com/MMYApplicatio...DetailName=z28
2) G2
3) Spohn

Although it is the most expensive, the G2 appears to be the best. More sturdy, doubles to strengthen your chassis.

I just looked at the ones you suggested, I would rather go with the BMR, UMI, SLP stlye of loop. Pulling the driveshaft is no big deal.

What kind of clearance do you have between the y-pipe and driveshaft loop? Anyone using one of the ones I stated with a flowmaster merge or x-pipe?

I'm using a Lakewood with the Xpipe slightly rubing the DSL. But, I can adjust the xpipe to clear up that problem.

What is the quality like on the Lakewood part? Is it sturdy once bolted together?

Is this the one? It looks like it would be a real tight fit.

yep, thats it. fit is perfect, it doesnt rub on anything (i still have stock torque arm and driveshaft). its extremely sturdy, i like it. i know a few people here with true duals are running it also, no complaints as of yet

It's one of the best $50 I've spent for my car. Like Turo said very sturdy, fits perfect. I also still have the stock TA, and driveshaft.

I got the G2. Didn't have to remove driveshaft and it appears to be good(looks good anyway).

I have the Lakwood peice with my Mufflex Y (has FM merge collector) and it fits fine. It's a two-peice design so you don't have to remove the DS. It's no big deal to remove the DS, just make sure you jack up the rear so when you slide out the DS from the tranny, fluid won't come pouring out the tailshaft!

Another vote for the Lakewood. It's a quality piece. Fit fine with my old TD setup. My fabricator actually used the Lakewood as an intergral hanger for the TD's so they would be a true bolt-on exhaust.

Good point That would make a good hanger location. Thanks for the idea
